- How does this LaunchDarkly pricing calculator work?
- It multiplies backend services plus client apps by environments to estimate service connections at $10 each, then adds client-side MAUs at $10 per 1,000 ($8.33 on annual). Betterflag is priced only on flag evaluations. The default conversion is 200 evaluations per MAU per month, which you can change.
- Why do you convert MAUs to evaluations?
- LaunchDarkly meters MAUs. Betterflag meters evaluations. Without a conversion, the comparison is two different units. 200 evaluations per MAU per month is a planning number for an app that flags main flows. Cache more and you will be lower. Evaluate on every render and you will be higher.
- Is 100k MAU on the Betterflag Launch plan?
- Not at the $24.99 included price. 100k MAU × 200 evaluations is 20 million evaluations. Launch includes 5M, so the cheapest bill is Launch plus 15M overage ($84.99/mo). Scale at $99.99 includes 50M and the audit log. Quoting Launch at $24.99 against that app would be wrong.
- Do I need to enter an email to use the calculator?
- No. The math is free and the shareable link in the URL works without an email. The email field is only if you want the breakdown when Betterflag launches, and to lock in the alpha discount.
